Our grants are specifically awarded to support the internal operations of core grantee partners and are intended to allow our partners to invest in their operations, helping them function more efficiently and effectively.
The capacity-building work is directed towards Civitates’ core partners to expand their learning capacities and support their resilience. Learning grants allow partners to participate in events which are relevant to their respective fields, including conferences and workshops, enrol in relevant training programmes, or participate in cross-border exchanges and site visits.
Well-being grants support partners to develop their knowledge, internal systems and culture, and strengthen their organisation and staff’s holistic security, particularly their psychosocial security. Well-being grants may cover efforts to develop internal strategies to ensure staff well-being, participation in conferences, courses, or workshops related to well-being, access to mental health support or preventing burnout, as well as team retreats or additional leave for staff members, such as sabbaticals.
With this complementary funding scheme Civitates recognises that prioritising well-being and security is the foundation upon which organisational resilience and agility are built, and which allows grantee partners to cope with challenging situations and crises.
In addition to providing funding, Civitates regularly convenes its grantees to foster cooperation and cross-border networking. Those online and in-person events allow our grantees to share their experiences and to develop common solutions to common problems, fostering a strong sense of community.
